Leadership
Mat Bruton
Director | Senior Structural Engineer
Founding Director and Partner, Mat Bruton leads the Structural Engineering Department. Highly skilled and accomplished in the construction engineering sector, Mat is especially recognised for his leadership and work ethic.
Outside of work, Mat’s leadership extends into his personal life as Captain of the Yandina Cricket Club’s 2nd-grade team. Recently acknowledged as a life member, he demonstrates enduring commitment to both leadership and community involvement. Additionally, Mat enjoys spending quality time with his family and overseas travel.

Stephen Roberts
Director | Civil Engineer
Founding Director & Partner, Stephen Roberts is the General Manager of Civil Engineering. Establishing the firm with his partners. Before founding Alta Projects, he served as an Associate Director at Tate Professional Engineers from 2008 to 2016, where he led numerous urban development projects. His career in civil engineering showcases a blend of technical expertise and leadership, underpinned by a passion for innovation and excellence in infrastructure development.
In his free time, he keeps fit and unwinds through various activities. These include relaxing with family, kiteboarding (having been a dealer and team rider), motocross, mountain biking, reading, water-skiing (formerly an instructor in Turkey), snow skiing (formerly a ski technician in NSW), surfing, and ice hockey.

Steve Harrison
Director | Structural Engineer | Civil Engineer
Director & Partner, Steve Harrison is a renowned Engineer leader at Alta Projects. With a strong background in structural and civil engineering, project management, and construction supervision, Steve has made significant contributions to the industry. Before founding Alta Projects, he served as a Director at Tate Professional Engineers for 17 years, overseeing various engineering projects.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family on his farm and indulging in his passion for motorcycle riding.
